• #109: Manmaruya BBQ

Hi guise! It's me again...I'm just acting preemptively for the upcoming lack of updates! ^^
Manmaruya decided to open a Japanese Wagyu Beef BBQ restaurant...I wanted to try it out for Mother's Day...but it didn't open in time so we went on a random day.

This place is rather small, but a really nice atmosphere. The vacuum pipes they use are really strong, so you can't smell it at all when you walk in. Also, your clothes don't stink when you finish eating! YAY~!

They use the Korean BBQ styled stoves. Although they do use charcoal...it's actually fueled by gas. Fusion-style!
Also like K-BBQ, they give you banchan - side dishes...But the dipping sauce thing is Japanese I think.
Grilling le meat! We ordered a range of meats:
    • Shoyu Wagyu Karubi; Shoyu Wagyu Harami; Shoyu Wagyu Rib Fingers ($12.80 each)
    • Tontoro a.k.a. Pork Cheek ($9.80)
    • Assorted seafood ($19.80

I thought it was quite okay la...seafood was a bit of a rip but seafood is seafood la... The wagyu beef was not fatty enough imo (which is meant to be good for your health; but I think it tastes better if it has more fat)
To make me feel better, we ordered some veggies($7.80)! The pumpkin was delicious...but everything else was quite dry...the result of grilling vegetables.

We also got a couple drinks and a some bowls of rice...which made the meal more filling. Therefore, I recommend order rice! Channel your inner-Asian pride (if you are Asian.) HAHAHA!!!

To satisfy daddy's raw fish desire, we also got a serving of sashimi ($10.80)....If you want nice sushi or sashimi (or anything BUT BBQ), I think you should go to the Campsie main store! It tastes a lot better there!

Price-wise, it's pretty okay -total was around $100. It's quite popular, so I think you should book before going there..or else, you'll have to wait in the bitter cold!
